We Help Our Students Succeed Through Scholarships

Palmyra-Macedon Dollars for Scholars® is a nonprofit foundation that supports higher education opportunities for graduates of Palmyra-Macedon High School. Located in Wayne County, New York, the chapter is part of Scholarship America's® national network. The organization is comprised of local volunteers. Helping young people continue their education after high school has been our mission, and our reward.

Since its inception in 1988, the chapter has awarded over $2,712,050 to 2506 students. On June 1, Pal-Mac Dollars for Scholars awarded over $170,000 to 114 members of the Class of 2023, the chapter celebrated its 35th anniversary.

Founded in 1988, Pal-Mac DFS assists graduating seniors in achieving their dream of higher education. According to chapter President, Michael Boesel, "That is our mission and our reward."

Affiliated with the national non-profit organization, Scholarship America, Pal-Mac DFS is one of the most successful chapters in New York State. Since its inception, it has awarded over 2 million dollars to college-bound seniors. This year, community members, businesses, families and benevolent associations have funded over 180 scholarships. Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Robert Ike, also expressed gratitude for last month's phone-a-thon pledges which totaled more than $20,000. "The generosity of our community members is enduring and overwhelming."

In addition to existing scholarships, Pal-Mac DFS recently received a generous bequest of over $650,000 from the estate of Patricia Brockhuizen, a beloved and valued member of the community. Pat hoped her philanthropy would "make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of our youth, since they are the future of our country."

Parents, organizations and businesses are always welcome to consider establishing a scholarship or making a donation to Pal-Mac DFS. More information is available at www.Palmyra-Macedon.DollarsforScholars.org
